Craig Pedersen

Craig Pedersen is trumpet player, composer and educator based out of Montréal. An active freelance musician specializing in jazz and free music, he also performs commercial, classical and klezmer music. He actively leads his own band, the Craig Pedersen Quartet/Quintet, and plays in the collaborative noise duo Sound of the Mountain.

Since 2011, Craig has released thirteen albums, ranging between composed material to improvisation, through jazz, free music, country, and klezmer, in a variety of ensembles. Recent highlights of his work have included collaborations and/or performances with Joe Morris, Pauline Oliveros, Jean Derome, Joane Hetu, Lori Freedman, Nicolas Caloia, Ian Birse and Laura Kavanaugh (Instant Places), Elizabeth Millar (Sound of the Mountain), Norm Adams, Shayna Dulberger, Karen Ng, Vicky Mettler, Bennett Bedoukian and Mark Molnar, as well as recording on the soundtrack for Robert Lepage’s Needles and Opium, and performances at L’Off Festival du Jazz and FONT Canada. His method book exploring extended techniques for the trumpet, Trumpet Sound Effects, was published by Berklee Press and Hal Leonard in November of 2014.

Elizabeth Millar

Elizabeth Millar is an Australian clarinetist and improviser. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Millar has been living in Montreal since 2009. Between 2014 and 2017 Millar studied with renowned improvisor and performer Lori Freedman.
Engaging with free improvisation, noise music, contemporary classical repertoire and klezmer, her creative work explores the merging of acoustic and electronic textures with amplification and extended techniques.
Recent notable performances include : the Obey Contemporary Music Festival Halifax, Pop Montreal Festival and concerts in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Australia with her noise duo Sound of the Mountain; the Acousma Electroacoustics Festival and Journées de la Culture at the Montreal Contemporary Art Museum with the Concordia Laptop Orchestra; the Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival Montreal.
Elizabeth Millar has collaborated with Joane Hétu, Lori Freedman, Jean Derome, John Oswald, Craig Pedersen, Yves Charuest, Anne-F Jacques, Philipe Lauzier, Ian Birse and Laura Kavanaugh (Instant Places).

Kevin Corcoran

Kevin Corcoran is a percussionist and field recordist with an open interest in sound as medium as it moves through contexts of art, music, ecology, and communication. As a drummer/percussionist he is most interested in techniques which extend the sonic possibilities of the instrument emphasizing textural sound, atonal sympathetic vibration, sustained tones without audible attack and the use of found objects.
As a field recordist he collects sounds in urban and rural locations. These sonic environments are presented displaced from their origins with an intent to create temporary imagined acoustic places and are often combined with or serve as inspiration to his percussive sounds.
Kevin grew up in Sacramento where he played in a variety of rock and free-jazz groups in addition to solo and collaborative free improvisation and continues these practices in his current hometown San Francisco.
He has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Taiwan and Japan and collaborated on several published recordings both improvised and composed since 2002.

ケヴィン・コーコランは芸術・音楽・エコロジー及びコミュニケーションの文脈を横断して働く媒介としてのサウンドに広く興味を持つパーカッショニスト／フィールド・レコーディスト。
ドラマー／パーカッショニストとしては、音の組織構造を強調する楽器、無調的共鳴振動、耳に付くアタックを伴わないような持続音、そしてファウンド・オブジェクトの使用等々における音響的可能性を拡張する技法に特に興味を持っている。
フィールド・レコーディストとしては都市および田園地帯などで集音。これらの音環境は一時的な想像上の音響場を作成する意図のために元あった場所より切り離され て提示され、しばしば彼のパーカッシブなサウンドと組み合わせられ、あるいはそれらにひらめきある発想を与えるものとして機能する。
生まれ育ったアメリカのサクラメントではソロやコラボレーションでのフリー・インプロヴィゼイションに加え、様々なロックやフリー・ジャズのグループで活動した。（それらの活動は現在も続いている）

2002年以降、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、台湾、日本で演奏し、即興と作曲両方で参加した録音作品がリリースされている。
